When a woman plans her wedding, ensuring everything goes to plan is a necessity, however in the case of tattoo artist Mimsy, fate had other ideas. We had the chance to speak to tattooist Mimsy, who was delighted to give us the details of how it all unfolded.
As the months flew by, plans were prepared, dates and times were finalised, while the band was ready to go! The band was Slingshot and luckily, a gracious and courteous man called Pony was a member. Prior to the wedding, Pony agreed to accept a tattoo as a partial payment for the wedding to ease the financial burden for Mimsy, starting a friendship that would last for the decades.
Unfortunately, walking down the isle was simply not in the cards for Mimsy and the wedding was off. During this dark moment, Pony was there for Mimsy and became her shoulder to cry on. After a short period of time had passed, Pony decided to embark on a different sort of proposal; he asked Mimsy on a date. Mimsy ecstatically accepted and the rest is history!
However, this loved-up duo didn’t stop there. With Mimsy’s artistic ability and Pony’s natural strength in the business world, they decided to work together! Both shared the dream of owning a trailer park scattered with old-school trailers. Both then threw caution to the wind and purchased their first trailer. But in the midst of this dream, Mimsy’s tattooing business had begun to soar and although the trailer park dream had to be put on hold, Trailer Trash Tattoo was born!
If this romantic story has hooked you harder than The Notebook, you should know, Mimsy will be here in Sydney for the Rites of Passage Tattoo Festival, working her artistic magic on lucky customers!
The year’s lineup includes over 250 of Australia’s best tattoo artists in the country, plus the opportunity to witness the festival’s first ever Miss Rites of Passage competition as well as the first Battle of The Bands.
