A new trailer has been released for CBS All Access’s new TV series Tell Me A Story. The official synopsis hints at a horror heavy take on classic fairytales:
“Tell Me A Story… takes the world’s most beloved fairy tales and reimagines them as a dark and twisted psychological thriller. Set in modern-day New York City, the first season of this serialised drama interweaves ‘The Three Little Pigs,’ ‘Little Red Riding Hood,’ and ‘Hansel and Gretel’ into an epic and subversive tale of love, loss, greed, revenge and murder.”
Kevin Williamson is the creator of the series, he’s known best for his work as a writer on The Vampire Diaries, Scream, The Following and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
The trailer features an oversexed cast of characters, seedy locals, organised criminals wearing pig masks and illicit substance abuse. But that all feels like background noise to the surprising cast.
Paul Wesley, Danielle Campbell and Michael Raymond-James all pop up making the series feel like a weird conglomeration of The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and Once Upon A Time. In general the cast for this series is insane in that it’s probably going to be the best looking cast to hit television. Other actors who will be making an appearance include Austin Butler, Sterling Knight and Kim Cattrall.
Tell Me A Story will be released on Halloween.
