Okay, so you have landed a date with a solid 10/10 and you need to impress him with your perfect balance of charm and beauty. There are some things that turn off a guy A LOT and so you’re probably going to want to avoid doing that. Of course you want to be yourself 100% but in order for the date to go as smoothly as possible, preferably with no awkward moments, please avoid doing the following.
DO NOT talk about yourself too much
You do not want to come off as arrogant or self-induced or even a touch of “hey look at me, I need attention” because that does not sit well with a guy. That does not mean you just constantly talk about him because even he will get bored of that, all you have to do is say some things about yourself and listen to what he has to say about himself. Simple as that!
DO NOT talk about your job too much
You might have a job that requires you to travel the globe and get paid at the same time or you might work ridiculous hours and have the world’s worst boss. Either option gives you permission to talk about your job for too long. The guy asked about what you do for a living, so get to the point. No one likes someone that brags or whines so keep the career talk to a minimum.
DO NOT talk about your previous relationships
For some of us this is blatantly obvious, but unfortunately for some they just don’t understand that it’s not okay. On a first date you want to get to know each other, not each other’s exes. Perhaps down the track it might come up in conversation but right now it’s too early and the last thing you want to do is scare him away.
DON’T keep checking your phone
A nice meal, a movie, a walk on the beach… absolutely ruined by the annoying *Phone ringtone*. It’s just plain rude, so ladies… for everyone’s sake switch your damn phone on silent. You need to be totally present in the moment in order to truly enjoy it and begin to get to know each other.
