Katy Perry may be chained to the rhythm in her music at the moment, but there’s one thing she definitely isn’t chained to any more – Orlando Bloom.
Hollywood’s biggest low-key couple have been pretty good at keeping their relationship out of the spotlight. In a year’s relationship, they’ve managed to keep themselves pretty quiet (naked kayaking aside). However, they announced last night that they are taking some time off – at least for now.
“Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time,” said a joint statement from the star’s managers.
The two seemed to have been going pretty nicely before now, with Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando featuring on Instagram with Katy’s dog as recently as Monday. However, reports say the two have been driven apart by lack of time together.
Bloom’s charity work in Niger, on top of Perry’s publicity for her new single, ‘Chained to the Rhythm’, has meant they’ve both been travelling a lot. They found it hard to keep the relationship going.
Even a cosy appearance together at the Oscars didn’t seem to paper over the cracks. Reports said they spent very little time together on the night other than posing for photos.
Obviously this news breaks wide open the hearts of celebrity matchmakers everywhere. We’re certainly devastated. But wait – let us take a moment to remember that these two beautiful people are now back on the market. Every man’s dreams of becoming the next man in Katy Perry’s life are firmly back on track.
I mean, after Eugenie Bouchard’s Twitter date seemed to go off without a hitch, anything’s possible, right?
