In Melbourne earlier this month, Holly Holm became the women’s bantamweight UFC Champion de-throning the undefeated Ronda Rousey. Since gaining the title, the 34-year-old has risen to fame quite quickly and rubbed shoulders with some of Hollywood’s elite.
Amongst the celebrities was famous couple Jay Z and Beyonce who she met last Saturday at their private viewing party of the Alvarez VS Cotto fight in Las Vegas. It was here that the Preacher’s Daughter proved that even UFC champions have embarrassing moments too.
After meeting Jay Z he continued to say “This is my wife” which Holm regrettably responded “Oh, hi, what’s your name?” As she shook her hand all she could think was ‘Why did I just say that?’ She then apologised several times as Beyonce assured her that it was fine.
The undefeated fighter also recently told Fox Sports “I would love to fight sooner than later but that’s because I like to be an active fighter.” Does this mean there will be a rematch in the near future?
