Jennifer Garner has been in the headlines again lately after announcing that her and ex-husband Ben Affleck are making co-parenting work. She has also recently come clean about the ridiculous lengths celebrities are forced to go to particularly for red carpet occasions. Most of us are exposed to the glitz and glam of it all with love heart eyes and envious souls.
In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Garner explains the almost ‘medieval’ measures women in Hollywood take in order to look ‘acceptable’ for the night. After Fallon takes out a beautiful photo of Garner in the waist hugging black dress she wore to the Oscars, this is what she had to say:
“See how I have a waist right there, I don’t have one in real life anymore. What they do is, they move your organs around. I was placed into a metal corset by two men and the next thing I know my ribs were compressed. There’s metal inside it and these people just kind of move your ribs and they move your liver out to the side and they pop you in.”
She also revealed that during the ceremony she starting having rib spasm attacks but had to wait until an ad break because her friend told her she’d look like Kanye if she stood up sooner. As her bubbly and lovely self, she couldn’t help but laugh at the situation especially when it came to the bathroom situation later. What we’re more concerned with is why anyone would make someone wear something so painful and absurd. This takes ‘beauty is pain’ to a whole ‘nother level. Jennifer you have the body of a goddess so please don’t think you ever have to get into something like that again.
