Everyone knows that The Castle is probably the greatest Aussie movie ever made.
It’s a comedy about a family trying to save their home, but it’s so much more than that – it makes you laugh, it makes you think, and it makes you feel a bunch too.
In watching the film, you really feel a sense of being at home inside the Kerrigan house, and now you can take that feeling one step further, because the actual house it was shot in is up for sale.
But contrary to what Darryl Kerrigan would be telling us, we definitely aren’t dreamin’.
The house is located at 3 Dagonet Street, Strathmore in Victoria, and will go up for piblic auction in Victoria on 26th July this year.
Property experts reckon the joint will be marketed as a relocation property and will be looking at around $10,000 sale price. Tell ’em they’re dreamin’!
However, since the property will be auctioned, as they note, anything is possible. Surely there’s a fan out there who is going to make a play for it?
Because seriously, who wouldn’t want The Castle for themselves? Imagine the serenity down there in the country…
It’s more than the history and affection for the film that would make that house. It’s the vibe…no, that’s it, it’s the vibe. I rest my case.
