Jay-Z has addressed why he missed Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s wedding in a new song.
The rapper dropped his latest album with wife, Beyonce, ‘Everything is Love’ over the weekend.
On the sixth track of the album, the song “Friends” hints the record producer’s friendship with the Gold Digger singer.
Jay raps why he was a no-show at Kimye’s wedding:
I ain’t going to nobody for nothing when me and my wife beefing
I don’t care if the house on fire, I’m dying, n****, I ain’t leaving
Ty Ty take care of my kids, after he done grieving
If ya’ll don’t understand that, we ain’t meant to be friends
The lyrics confirm the music mogul chose not to attend because he was dealing with his own marital issues.
In a recent interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Kanye expressed his disappointment his Watch the Throne partner missed out on his big day.
“Respectfully, I have to say I was hurt that they didn’t come to the wedding. I understand they were going through some things, but if it’s family, you’re not gonna miss a wedding.”
Over the years, the duo has had their ups and downs from calling each other out on stage to enjoying the Grammys and VMA’s together.
Jay spoke about his friendship with Kanye during an interview with David Letterman.
“That’s my brother, we’re beyond friends,”
“And like your little brother, things happen sometimes.”
Sounds to us, Kanye and Jay still care for one another. Aussie Gossip hopes one day, these two will put their differences aside and hug it out.
