Kanye West teases new album on Instagram

UPDATE: Kanye has posted this to his Instagram. Yandhi – 29 September 2018. What is a Yandhi? Guess we will soon find out!

Kanye West is totally up to something. On Monday evening, the rapper, producer and designer took to his Instagram and posted a cryptic photo which looks awfully similar to his Yeezus cover. His fans are speculating and commenting on whether Yeezus 2 is on the cards.

Similarly to his Yeezus cover, the photo showed a clear disc case. The text on the case reads “MiniDiscs,” otherwise known as Sony’s short-lived format that aimed to compete with CDs. In true Kanye style, this post has no caption (like the rest of his Instagram posts) but the comments are going crazy.

Hours previous to the cryptic post, Kanye announce that he would featuring on the upcoming Saturday Night Live premiere to perform. It will be Kanye’s first appearance on the show since 2016 when he performed The Life of Pablo tracks “Highlights” and “Ultralight Beam.”

What is even more mysterious, West’s post follows friend Chance the Rappers own cryptic Instagram post yesterday, featuring the words “Good Ass Job,” which is a possible reference to the original title for Kanye’s hit album, Graduation. Chance has said he’s working on a project with Kanye and they were spotted together in the studio last month.

Kanye also teased on his Twitter a sequel to his collaborative album with Jay Z, Watch the Throne. It’s hard to tell if Kanye is just teasing, but hearing of his work ethic in the past, it’s possible to think he’s working on a multitude of albums at once.

Kanye has been in work mode the last few years, while designing his Yeezy line with Adidas, he has produced Pusha T’s recent album Daytona (can confirm – is a banger), his own album Ye, Nas’ album Nasir and his collaborative album with Kid Cudi, Kids See Ghosts.

It seems there is no slowing down for Kanye anytime soon. We can’t wait to hear what he produces next.
