Amy Schumer gave no f*cks in her most recent show in Tampa, Florida (where most of the Trump army reside), deciding it would be the perfect venue to relentlessly share her thoughts on the Republican nominee.
After describing the state as being, “horrendous” in her autobiography, she took no shame in taking a page out of Trump’s books and absolutely slandering the nominee calling him an,
“orange, sexual assaulting, fake-college-starting monster,”
much to the audience’s displeasure.
But this wouldn’t be the first time a comedian has taken their political stance to the stage, however, it is probably one of the first times a comedian has gone to the extent to call up a member of the audience to reinforce their point. Schumer called up a Trump supporter named, “Dave”, from the audience to the stage and questioned him as to how Trump can have his vote.
His reply was that he was only “Republican in name only” and hasn’t voted for a GOP candidate since Ronald Reagan, but he “can’t trust Hillary”, which earned cheers from the crowd.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, roughly 200 of the 10,000ish people attending walked out of the show not wanting to hear what the Emmy nominated writer had to say about the most recent of Trump scandals.
Schumer is not one to shy away from addressing political issues in her professional and personal life, becoming a strong advocate for stricter gun laws, after the death of two young women at the showing of one of her movies last year and also after her very public recount of being a victim of sexual assault in her autobiography, “The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo”.
At another point in the show, she asked anyone who had been the victim of a sexual assault to stand up, with dozens of females standing up, making it clear why she so openly stands against Trump.
Schumer wasn’t oblivious to the reaction from the crowd saying,
“Of course, we’re in Florida, you’re going to boo,”
“I know you’re here to laugh, but you choose how you’re going to live your life, and it’s just too important. So we’re going to spend five more minutes talking about it and if you don’t like it you can go to the bathroom or you can leave”.
Show goers were not impressed by her performance with one saying,
“The show became political. I definitely didn’t come to hear this,”
and another audience member saying,
“I don’t want to hear that. We wanted to have a good night without distractions with the politics.”
