Turkey has shot down a Russian war plane that it says “Violated its airspace” near its border with Syria. Turkey claims the Russian plane was warned numerous times before being shot down by a Turkish F-16.
Russia has confirmed a Su-24 Sukhoi (Or “Fencer” as designated by NATO) was shot down.
Tensions have been mounting between Russia and Turkey over the past year over the conflict in Syria.
