Radio station Triple J are known for bringing One Night Stands to rural places around Australia. Unlike usual one night stands, which bring momentary satisfaction, Triple J has designed these events to bring lasting musical enjoyment to the country. One Night Stands bring Australian bands to rural areas so people can enjoy the music they might not otherwise be able to see on stage.
The latest Triple J One Night Stand will be held in Mount Isa in rural Queensland. Mount Isa is a mining town which has featured in the news lately due to it’s mine that can cause ‘potentially significant’ lead pollution. The One Night Stand will bring the right kind of attention to the town and help boost the local economy.
This is the most remote location that the Triple J event has been held in. The One Night Stand will take place on Saturday, 22nd of April, so there’s plenty of time to grab your mates and figure out how you’re going to make the trek to Mount Isa.
With the chance to see San Cisco, Thundamentals, The Smith Street Band and Tash Sultana, you’ll definitely give it a go!

The Triple J Twitter account broke the news, and fans could not be more excited. Especially those who usually miss out based on the fact that they, yknow, live in Mount Isa and can’t make the trek to Brisbane.
It’s an all ages, drug and alcohol free event so everyone can get involved in the Triple J action. Mount Isa’s crazy setup of more roads underground than above ground, and with 9.5 hours of sunshine each day, you’d be crazy not to go!
However, Triple J will be broadcasting it live for the rest of us who can’t trek to Mount Isa on a whim. So even if you can’t make it to rural Queensland, you’ll be able hear four awesome bands for free!
