Cosmopolitan and Tinder have revealed the 13 most “right-swiped” men and women on the dating app in the UK. The application’s in-house sociologist, Dr Jessica Carbino, said that being a thirst magnet isn’t about being drop dead gorgeous.
“Individuals that do well on Tinder are not necessarily the most attractive people in the room, they’re the ones who are creating a profile that presents an authentic self, and then go about matching with people who they believe will be compatible,” Dr Carbino said.
So without much ado, here are the top 13 right swiped ladies and gents…
14Stefan
26, Model and TV presenter
Stefan took a Tinder date out for dinner while on a boys’ holiday in Marbella. Now that’s commitment to finding The One.
Time on Tinder: 2 years
Matches a day: 20

13Ryan
27, Financial consultant
One match had a Fifty Shades… fetish (Ryan’s surname is Gray, which was close enough for her). She pulled out a box of toys and asked him to act out some scenes. He obliged.
Time on Tinder: 3 years, 7 months
Matches a day: 4
Number of first dates: 18
12Cressida
23, Fashion marketeer
She’s a big fan of geeky men. In fact, she was once wooed by a guy purely through the medium of sheep facts. “I like it if they’re doing something active in their photos,” she adds.
When it comes to her own profile, she says: “I think quite hard about the photos I put up. They say you judge someone within the first seven seconds of seeing them.”
Time on Tinder: 1 year, 6 months
Matches a day: 6
Number of first dates: 4
11Arthur
19, Musician
He once swiped left on a girl because her headphones were tangled in her photo. Turns out orderliness is close to godliness.
Time on Tinder: 1 year, 6 months
Matches a day: 6
Number of first dates: 3
10Loui
26, Entrepreneur
He took a date to a vegan sushi-making class, followed by an open-top bus tour. Talk about niche.
“If someone seems standoffish, it prevents people from reaching out,” says Loui. Plus, he suggests it’s worth putting personal detail in there – such as the fact he’s vegan. “I thought it would put people off but it didn’t.”

Number of first dates: 8
9Stephen
27, Business consultant
A girl once fell asleep in his car on the way to their date, then stole his iPhone when he said he just wanted to go home.
James says he looks for “friendly” women who are “adventurous”, and “if they’re smiling in their picture, that automatically appeals.”
Time on Tinder: 18 months
Matches a day: 15
Number of first dates: 10
8Jade
7
24, Internal recruiter
The best opening line she ever got was, “Do you like dragons?” For the record, she doesn’t, but she appreciated being asked.
“I like to see a bit about their life – a friendship group or a hobby,” she says of men’s profiles. Like most of us, the opening like, ‘Hey. You OK?’ is a pet peeve, but “I don’t like loads of compliments either – they make me feel awkward.”
When it comes to her own profile, she thinks that having a mix of photos is important – “one of me at work, one with my dog, with my horse, one with friends, and a selfie.”
Again, with these tweaks and adding in a quote from her favourite book, Jade says giving people conversation starters has seen success, and she chats to eight out of 10 matches. “I want to give the right impression to attract the kind of guy I’m looking for.”
Time on Tinder: 2 years

6Rich
28, Singer/songwriter
Girls often tell him he looks like Gerard Butler. It works. Every single time.
Time on Tinder: 2 years
Matches a day: 6

5Rodney
22, Sports student
He always opens conversations by sending a GIF of a guy sweating. He’s insinuating the girl is hot, in case you didn’t get that (or ever match with him yourself).
Time on Tinder: 3 years
Matches a day: 15
Number of first dates: 3
4Holly
21, Film student and model
Holly’s bio is her Instagram name and a dolphin emoji. She thinks the dolphin speaks for itself (something the non-emoji dolphin cannot do). “I think it’s my hair that makes me stand out. But I also select my photos really carefully. I like to include ones of me on holiday as I want people to think I have a fun life.”
Her big no-no? Selfies. “It makes [men] seem really self-obsessed.” Agreed.
Time on Tinder: 8 months

Number of first dates: 1
3Jay
30, Model and personal trainer
Jay got stood up at Winter Wonderland. He waited for two hours before riding the Ferris wheel. Alone.
Time on Tinder: 4 years
Matches a day: 5
Number of first dates: 6
2Daniel
34, Gaming company director
Despite having his height listed in his bio, Daniel’s biggest turn off is girls who request a certain height in their bios. So you don’t have to ask, he’s 6ft4.
Time on Tinder: 6 months
Matches a day: 5
Number of first dates: 15
1Tom
A date once slapped Tom after he said, “I’ve got you all figured out.” He enjoyed it and continued seeing her for a couple of months.
