He’s not only an amazingly talented tattoo artist, but he’s pretty much the coolest guy we’ve ever met.
Meet ex Bondi Ink tattoo artist, Carl Sebastian. Carl is a Swedish dude who was part of the very first Bondi Tattoo Tales Ink Show, but now he works from a private studio in Balmain. According to him, operating from his own studio not only allows him to rapidly build his clientele, but he can work on the “bigger and longer time scaled pieces.”
The tattoo artist has been in Sydney for the past nine years, and one of his many talents includes imitating Aussies. He’s actually become such an expert that his accent has naturally taken on a bit of an Australian twang. We’re not gonna lie; we were pretty damn impressed.
And Carl is so clever that now he’s even part of the Rites of Passage Tattoo Festival that’s happening in Sydney this weekend. We caught up with him this afternoon and quite frankly, we want to adopt him as our new best friend.
When asked about the strangest area Carl has ever tattooed, he revealed “below the bum where the cheek meets the leg.” (But they were both women, so we’re guessing it wasn’t that bad, Carl…) Additionally, his favourite tattoo designs include snakes and skulls, and his preferred areas to tattoo are the calves and thighs.
And apparently, we aren’t the only ones fan girling over the talented guy. Carl’s pal, Greg described him as honest, reliable and down to earth. Carl himself even felt the need to throw ‘pragmatic’ into the mix…
Take a look at Carl’s work on Facebook and Instagram, it will rock your socks off. You can also contact him on 0478 695 348.
To see Carl and over 250 of the country’s best tattoo artists in the flesh, head down to the Rites of Passage Festival this weekend. You’ll also get the opportunity to witness the festival’s first ever Miss Rites of Passage Competition and its Battle of the Bands.
And that’s not all! As you might know, we’re giving away two double passes to the festival. Get in now before it’s too late!
