Brace yourselves, children of the ’90s and ’00s. There could be a double denim inspired reunion happening very soon. Yes, that’s right. Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears might be hitting our airwaves again!

It was during a fan Q&A session late last month that Brits listed a number of other big-name stars she wanted to collaborate with. To our delight, she included her ex-beau on that list. Be still, our hearts!

“Aerosmith seems really good and bright. He’s a genius I think. He’s very rock n’ roll. He sings from his soul. Gwen Stefani, I think she’s great,” she said, and then added, “Justin Timberlake is very good.”

The 35-year-old “Sexyback” singer had no idea about the announcement, but when E! told him that the 34-year-old blonde beauty wanted to hit the recording studios together, he was surprised but also super keen. We guess he really can’t help how he’s feeling.

“She did? Sure! Absolutely, absolutely,” he said. “I have a 17 month old, so I don’t get the headline news. I apologise for not being in the know. I’m accessible – give us a call.”

A source close to JT has also revealed just how excited our fave boy-next-door is about the possible collab.

“Justin would be totally down with doing a song with Britney sometime in the future,” the source said. “He would want it to be something amazing and not just do it for the nostalgia of it all. Though he is not actively pursuing a duet with her, he would welcome the discussion and would be happy if it were to happen.”

As most of us probably know (and shame on those who don’t) the pair dated for three years back in 1999. They adorably starred together in The Mickey Mouse Club when they were kids, and got together when they were both 17. They were literally the first couple goals we had, and our young hearts broke when they parted ways.

Luckily for us, they’re clearly still on good terms. Let this collaboration happen soon, guys. We don’t think we can wait too much longer.
