Calling all Gossip Girl fans, your favourite Queen B is no longer a brunette.
Leighton Meester was famous for her brunette locks and array of satin headbands during her Gossip Girl days, but the Upper East Sider has pulled a Serena Van Der Woodsen and gone short & platinum blonde!
Leighton debuted her new blonde hair on Instagram, stating she was ‘having a blonde moment’ and was channelling serious vintage Hollywood vibes. Comments also flooded in comparing her new look to pop icon Gwen Stefani– and I totally see it!
The 31-year-old told People that the new look is going to take some getting used to, but knew it was time for a change.
“I don’t even feel comfortable saying that I just went blonde. It is a totally different colour of hair!”
Leighton’s colour transformation was executed at Nexxus Salon in New York by her colourist Aura Friedman, who pulled off total Platinum dreams!
“I’ve had long, natural hair for a long time. The length it got to felt like the exact opposite of what I wanted to go for. I really felt like something that was a stark difference would be invigorating and fun.”
It’s definitely not what we’re used to, but we’re totally loving the blonde bob! Xoxo
