No one can forget the sexy AF Emily Ratajkowski, who practically broke the internet when she pranced around in her birthday suit for Robin Thicke’s song Blurred Lines. Now she’s horsing around for the August Issue of Harper’s Bazaar and manages to look smoking hot.
Harper’s Bazaar snapped this eye candy and Ratajkowski proved she’s got a heck of naked ambition. She talked to famed feminist author Naomi Wolf who has controversially explored the work of sexuality in her novels The Beauty Myth and Vagina, among many others.
In the Bazaar article, Emily said, “I had a girlfriend who was Venezuelan, and her body developed in a different way. I had big boobs, and she had a big butt. She would wear jeans with no pockets that would show it off, and we were constantly in trouble at school with the dress code. We were harassed, and, damn, that was the worst part of it” (Harper’s Bazaar, 2016).
Wolf and Ratajkowski discuss Kim’s notorious naked selfie that had black bars on her private areas. It received quite an uproar as she is a 35-year-old mother publicly baring skin. It was almost shamed. Not only is Kim notorious for showing off her ample assets on a constant basis, why she received so much backlash is archaic. Ratajkowski says, “So what if a woman wants to celebrate her sexuality? Screw you, I own my sexual body” (Harper’s Bazaar, 2016).
The huge influx of pornography teaches a narrow definition of what a sexy woman is; as well as the airbrushed pictures of Victoria’s Secret models. Actresses like Lena Dunham, a curvacious woman takes her clothes off and gets flack for it.
It’s 2016 people, wake up already. All women have the right to get naked, love their bodies and talk openly about sex. Ratajkowski says, “Sex is normal. Desire is normal. Attention is normal, and that’s okay” (Harpers Bazaar, 2016). Slut shaming is not okay.
You can look at the Blurred Lines video again which skyrocketed Ratajkowski to fame.
