Sonia Kruger, a well-known TV presenter received public backlash when she called for Muslims to be banned from entering the country. Cosmopolitan Magazine was a supporter who endorsed her at the Woman of the Year Award.
Fairfax spoke to the editor of the magazine, Claire Askew stating she does not reflect the readers opinions. Her TV Presenter of the Year nomination was approved before her Aussie Trump comment on live air.
Despite the public, Askew still left Kurger on the list as they debated among them.
“It’s up to the readers to vote and whether she should be the winner or not,” and that she trusts them to choose the best woman who they think deserves the award.”
