With everything Kesha’s been going through, her name in the news doesn’t tend to be accompanied by happy stories – but Coachella brought a happy surprise when the singer got on stage with DJ and supporter, Zedd.
At the beginning of the #freekesha movement, Zedd voiced his support through twitter.

Kesha is currently in the midst of a lawsuit against her producer Dr Luke, with allegations that he raped and abused her. She’s taking up charges against him and wants their contract to be voided so she can avoid continuing to work with her abuser, but recent legal actions have been unsuccessful, so she’s still contractually bound to Sony and Dr Luke. Although she can’t take Zedd up on his offer to produce a song without breaching contract, her performance at Coachella and ability to do what she loves comes as a great refresher for the crowds watching on.
She hinted a few times at the performance on her Instagram, at one point posting a sun-filled-selfie with the caption ‘tonight has a magic to it’.
The performance was greeted with lots of love from the Coachella crowd, and fans worldwide were beyond excited to see her beautiful face on stage again. She was practically glowing, and we’re hoping we get to see her back on stage and making music again soon.
