Allegedly, Cliff Richard was charged over news he had sexually abused four boys over 30 years ago. A 22 month police investigation has been undertaken costing more than £800,000 equivalent to over 1 and a half million dollars!
Allegations were made from nine men that the singer had abused them between 1958 and 1983. We’ve seen several cases of misconduct of boys, especially by priests in the catholic church. But are these rumours true? Understandably these allegations need to be taken very seriously and to put victims behind bars and tighten up measures to keep these people in prison.
South Yorkshire police filmed a search in Richard’s Berkshire house in 2014. This was live broadcasted on BBC. The 75-year-old is agitated that these investigations were carried out in the public eye.
The South Yorkshire police are sorry for giving Richards “additional anxiety by the force’s initial handling of the media interest.”
Richards continues to say, “I have no idea where these absurd and untrue allegations come from. I have never in my life assaulted anyone and I remain confident that the truth will prevail.”
