In the historic St James Supreme Court in Sydney, Justice Lucy McCallum has revealed the final sentencing to Oliver Curtis, husband of media figure Roxy Jacenko. After a long winded court case that consisted of a twelve day trial and a two day deliberation by the jury, Curtis will serve two years behind bars.
Curtis was involved in an insider trading scam that resulted in him making over $1.4 million in illegal profits. McCallum believes Curtis was driven by greed and the self pursuit of wealth.
Curtis worked alongside his ex-best friend from St Ignatius College, Riverview, John Hartman. It’s alleged that Hartman passed on tips to Curtis when he was working as an equities dealer in Sydney. Hartman is no stranger to being behind bars, having a string of insider trading offences to his name.
Curtis and his wife Roxy took a united front and Jacenko used the opportunity to parade her fancy fashion of Dior.
