Frank Ocean has written a personal reflection on the devastating Orlando shootings in a post on his Tumblr. The tragedy shook the whole world and particularly the LGBT community. Ocean voices the suffering caused by LGBT oppression saying, “Many hate us and wish we didn’t exist.” To many of us the fact that people could think this way still in 2016 is inhumane but it is an unfortunate reality. He deplores the Orlando massacre as well as other hate crimes and personal experiences.
Frank Ocean, thank you for speaking the truth. Some of society is taking way too long to not only accept but love the LGBT community. We look forward to a world where everyone can be who they want without judgment.
