Everyone’s favourite Irish MMA fighter has shocked the world by announcing his retirement on Twitter.
I have decided to retire young.
Thanks for the cheese.
Catch ya’s later.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 19, 2016
Since the announcement yesterday morning, we’ve still been trying to wrap our heads around it. However, we managed to get to the bottom of it. Turns out, there was a dispute between McGregor and and the UFC when he refused to attend a press conference in Las Vegas last week to promote his rematch against Nate Diaz in UFC 200. UFC boss, Dana White pulled him from UFC 200 saying, “Conor did not want to come to Las Vegas and film the commercial or be a part of any of the marketing we have.” (In a world where money makes the world go around with marketing as the driver, Conor really should’ve just shown the fuck up.)
We’re now starting to feel that McGregor’s out of the blue retirement might actually be his was of flipping the bird to the UFC. His coach, John Kavanagh appears to also be on board after taking to Twitter with this tweet.

The 27-year-old is one of the biggest stars in the sport and was set the make millions at UFC 200. If you happen to bump into any UFC fans over the next come days (or weeks), hugs and tissues may be necessary.
