And the Brangelina drama just keeps on coming.
According to TMZ, Brad Pitt is currently under investigation by the FBI, the LAPD and the LA County Department of Children and Family Services for allegedly abusing his children.
We hope the allegations aren’t true, but it would explain why Pitt’s soon to be ex-wife, Angelina Jolie is fighting for sole custody of the pair’s six children following the announcement of their divorce this week.
Sources revealed to TMZ that the abuse occurred last Wednesday when Pitt, Jolie and their children were flying on a private jet from France to Minnesota. The 52-year-old reportedly got drunk and then started verbally and physically abusing the children, particularly their eldest son, 15-year-old Maddox, who was said to be at the centre of Brad’s anger. Witnesses revealed the two were “clashing” and that Brad was “wild” with everyone on the plane.
According to the source, the abuse then continued onto the tarmac. The Fight Club actor even attempted to leave in one of the fuel trucks just to get away.
A witness anonymously reported the incident to the LA County Department of Children and Family Services, who have since interviewed both Ange and Brad. A police car was then spotted at the family mansion, and even the FBI have now become involved.
Meanwhile, two members of the Jolie-Pitt household have broken their silence regarding the incident.
“There was a disagreement with the eldest boy. I know it started on the way to the airport before the plane took off and escalated on the plane,” a long-time member of staff told The Sun. “It was a teenage thing, there’s a lot of hormones going on. They were gone for over ten days. You put eight people in a little tube like that and put them up in the air for 12 and a half hours, add this and that to it.”
“I was there for pick-up at the end of the night,” Another staff member added.”Obviously things were tense. There were definitely some hurt feelings, but I have never seen any evidence of abuse or anything like that.”
Further sources close to Brad have revealed he would never hurt his children. “He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children,” the friend said. “It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”
Another source said the actor is “distraught and terrified” as he hasn’t spoken to his kids since. “He takes the investigation very seriously and he is co-operating fully,” they said. “He was not physical in the way that has been reported. He will always do whatever is best for his kids.”
The investigation by Family Service is ongoing, and there’s no confirmation as to whether the abuse actually occurred. According to a spokesperson, Family Services is obligated to do a full investigation following any child abuse allegation.
Investigators are set to interview Maddox next, as well as the Jolie-Pitt kids old enough to understand what’s happening.
