Blonde aussie babe, Bridget Malcolm has landed a spot in the 2015 Victoria’s Secret fashion show, after being turned away twice in previous years.
Viewing the show from the outside, it all seems extremely glamorous and fun, but the Aussie Angel has admitted that the lead up to the show is actually “boring”.
“You’re walking in your underwear in front of millions of people, so for me that meant twice daily workouts, lots of sleep and water,” she told 104.1 Breakfast hosts Rove and Sam.
“It’s very boring, lots of protein shakes and vegetables, being healthy and getting a lot of early nights.
“Everyone has to audition for it, so it’s normally two rounds of casting and then you see if you get it basically.”
She also talked about the gruelling exercises that were amped up a month before the show on Channel 9’s Today Show.
“I stepped up to two-hour a day workouts, so an hour in the morning of pilates and then an hour of boxing in the evenings,” she said from New York.
While clearly perfect for the show, Malcom has received online criticism for her thin figure. She found herself at the centre of ‘skinny shaming’ and was accused of having an eating disorder.
She hit back with a selfie in workout gear and a caption, assuring she didn’t have an eating disorder.
“Can we STOP with the skinny shaming please? I am extremely fit and healthy and am not in the slightest way anorexic. I have worked hard to look like this and am proud of my body. I may not be the curviest but I am a woman who has every right to look the way I do”.
As for behind the scenes in the Angel’s dressing room, Malcom has found a friend in Gigi Hadid who she met during the auditions period.
“Gigi was in my casting group for the second round of castings, and we were both there terrified and so nervous,” she said on the Today Show.
“She actually walked after me in the show, so we both saw each other backstage and were like ‘ah you made it!’
“I didn’t meet Kendall, but Gigi is amazing.”
