An Anti-Islamic group and an Anti-Racism group has clashed in Melton resulting in an eruption of violence between the two groups.
The Anti-Islamic group named “Reclaim Australia” was protesting the building of a mosque in the town. The protest started with a walk down the main street and ended in a park where they planned a BBQ.
The Anti-Racism group called “No Room for Racism” held a counter protest in the park where tempers flared.
5 Members of Reclaim Australia were arrested on weapons charges and 1 member was arrested for punching a police horse.
Members of No Room for Racism were pepper sprayed.
