As if Aussies weren’t drinking enough! Now we can drink without suffering from a post-party hangover the next day. Australia’s first IV hydration “Hangover Clinic” has opened in Sydney just in time for Christmas and the practice has been slammed by health experts.
Essentially they offer IV treats and vitamin shots without the need for a script from a doctor. Essentially they offer remedies. Ranging from $140-$200 their “Jump Start”,”Energise” and “Resurrection” packages promise to help customers “jump start your engines, perform your best and tackle the post-party blues.”
Michael Moore, Chief executive of the Public Health Association of Australia told SMH “This encourages people to use alcohol in an entirely inappropriate way and it’s something the government should look at very, very carefully.”
Are hangover clinics a reminder to drink less or just an invitation to drink more?
