American burger chain Carl’s Jr. will open its first store in Australia tomorrow with the company said to be opening a total of 300 stores Australia Wide within the next 10 – 15 years.
Carl’s Jr. stores can already be found in over 30 countries worldwide, with the brand renowned for its highly controversial advertisements, sizeable burgers and inexpensive prices.
The chains Aussie advertisements, which have been screening on Free To Air television since December 2015, have already received numerous complaints with regards to their content. Scarcely clad girls and sexually provocative arrangements are key to the Carl’s Jr. marketing strategy, with the chain directly targeting male burger lovers between the ages of 18-35.
The Australian first is set to open on Tuesday in Bateau Bay, NSW, and if there wasn’t enough excitement surrounding it already; the store is said to be offering a years worth of free burgers to the first 50 people through the door.
One keen punter from the Central Coast has been camping out by the new franchise since Sunday night in the hopes of being the first Aussie to chow–down on one of the famous burgers. Respect.
The saying goes that any publicity is good publicity and Carl’s Jr’s. is getting its fair share. If the hype is anything to go by, this new chain is set to shake-up the Australian Burger market – perhaps even giving fast-food monolith McDonald’s a legitimate run for its money.
