There must be something very fertile in the water in Hollywood, as another celebrity couple is pregnant with twins. International superstar George Clooney and very accomplished human rights lawyer Amal Clooney are apparently expecting twins!

Julie Chen from the US show The Talk confirmed the news on air. She told her audience; “Beyoncé is not the only superstar expecting twins. Congratulations are in order for George and Amal Clooney!”

There have been reports circulating for over a month about a possible Clooney pregnancy. They began in January, when InTouch magazine suggested that Amal was carrying a girl and a boy. Several publications then suggested that Amal was looking bigger at a Netflix screening in London last month and earlier this month in Barcelona.

Although there has been no official statement from the incredible couple themselves, the statement from Chen (who is very well connected in Hollywood) can be taken as confirmation. Amal is reportedly due in June of this year.

The announcement follows Beyoncé’s artistic declaration that she and Jay-Z are expecting twins. That announcement was quickly parodied by Zoe Foster Blake, who took to Instagram to tell her followers that she and comedian husband, Hamish Blake, were also expecting.

This week also saw genetically blessed power couple Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Jason Statham announce that they’re expecting their first child. The model and action film star declared their pregnancy through a celebrity’s favourite conduit, Instagram (where else?). Clearly, it will be the most gorgeous and charming child ever to exist. It will also probably excel at punching things and looking intimidating.

Very happy to share that Jason and I are expecting!! Lots of love Rosie x ❤👼🏼 Photo by @jasonstatham

Seriously, what’s in the water in Hollywood? It looks like it might be a possible cure for infertility.
