On the 17th of June this year, Sydney traffic got the biggest surprise of their life when they saw a 41-year-old climbing the Harbour Bridge. The man, Adrian Manouel Karibian, wanted to draw attention to a “great tribulation” and send a message to God.
It was alleged that Mr Karibian exited the silver Taxi whilst in the middle of the Cahill Expressway before heading up on his “Road to Damascus” journey. He carried a silver bible in his hands.
Whether he was high on pot I can’t be too sure but he proceeded to chill under the top of the bridge’s arch for nearly two hours. Police attempted to coax him to come down but I guess nature called after two hours and he came down by his own abolition at approximately 10:50am.
Regardless to say, paramedics checked Karibian at the scene before he was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital NSW Ambulance where he had further psychological assessments done.
A positive for motorists was that the usual toll fee would be wavered between the time of 9-11am when traffic was delayed and people were gawking at the site above them.
He will next appear in court on 5th August. He appeared in court for entering enclosed lands and climbing on a bridge.
