In all the drama surrounding Oscars night, there was a subplot that didn’t draw enough attention. That was Brie Larson, and her frosty presentation of the highest acting honour to Casey Affleck.

Brie has been pretty outspoken about the sexual harassment claims brought against the Manchester by the Sea actor, and has been publicly critical of both his character and his denial of the incidents.

When she presented Affleck with his Oscar, she did not applaud him nor show any sign of pleasure. She has since confirmed at the premiere for her new film, Kong: Skull Island, that we’ve all got the point perfectly.

“I think that whatever it was that I did onstage kind of spoke for itself. I’ve said all that I need to say about that topic,” said Brie.

The allegations against Affleck come from the set of his 2010 film I’m Still Here, and it’s pretty clear Brie is not going to back down on this one.

In an interview with Kelly Ripa and Christian Slater, she claimed she couldn’t even remember the moment, saying: “I am grateful it was televised because I have no memory of it.”

Casey Affleck has always denied the allegations brought against him, and in the aftermath of his Oscars success was quick to reaffirm his belief in respect in the workplace in an interview to the Boston Globe.

“I believe that any kind of mistreatment of anyone for any reason is unacceptable and abhorrent, and everyone deserves to be treated with respect in the workplace and anywhere else,” he said.

Well it’s good to hear Casey talking the talk at least, but questions are not going to go away on this.
