21-year-old Griffith University student Jeremy White ‘borrowed’ his roommate’s credit card to register for the online pokies site Bingo Cabin. The site was offering $30 in free spins and not too long later White had won $485,287.

White confessed to his roommate Tyrone Johnson “Hey man, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that I stole your credit card.” The verbal argument then got physical when Johnson broke an empty beer bottle over his roommate’s head. He late admitted “I had been drinking, and sometimes I’m a jerk when I drink.”

He drove his roommate to the hospital who had to receive eight stitches and it was during this car ride the boys agreed to split the winning and medical bills. Neither of them pressed charges but the police did have to file a report for causing a disturbance.
